Honolulu Altered Books Group August 2015

Aloha art lovers,
August turned out to be a great month for altered art in Honolulu. We are so lucky to have a diverse group of artists that keep us thinking, laughing, pondering and sometimes even shedding a tear.  It's hard to believe that we only have three more rounds before this round robin is finished. We are looking forward to what creative artwork still awaits us.
   Please enjoy this month's art.
"We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we
dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance
for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the
dancers, we create the dreams."
~Albert Einstein

"High Rise Adventures/ Tall Tales"
Pat shared an amazing tale about the
American hero Lucas Bazookas.

Tall tale or true story?
 You decide!

"Faerie Folk"
Jennifer introduces us to Tomte, who hails
from Sweden. Don't cross him unless
you want to be the recipient of some form
of mischief upon yourself.

"This is What Makes Me Sing"
Lorena enjoys spending her lunch shopping
at Savers!

It truly must make her sing. Just look at
all the tags she has collected during
lunch time!

"Design and Create Art"
Kim and Kehau created this beautiful
fabric flower to go
along with a quote from Audrey Hepburn.

"Constructing a Game Plan"
Pam's game plan appears to be not to
have a plan at all.

"Imagination Illustrated"
Su continues the travels of Happy Harry
into outer space.

To boldly go where no Happy Harry
has gone before!

"Mystery Palette Challenge"
Rosemary used her mystery palette colors to
create this summer aloha scene.

Amy's "Heroes" spread pays tribute
to all the brave dedicated dogs who help save and change

Military and rescue dogs

Some heart warming stories about these
unsung heroes.

Lorraine shares her colors that
all began with the letter L.

She created a beautiful textured pop-up of color.

"From the Mundane to the Sublime"
Darrell takes us on his journey: a true labor of love.

The dirty mundane job of digging.

Soon, all the hard work will pay off.

Grow, Grow, Grow!

The taste of homemade salsa is
just sublime!

Sue takes us on a winter walk for her inspired
Chill-Lax layout.

"What's My Line"
Debbie wants your answer to be phrased
in the form of a question.

I'll take The Dr. is In for $1000, Alex.

Who is Theodor Geisel?

Stephanie's "It's About Time layout.
